<p>A pump system for placing in explosively dangerous locations on board a tanker comprising two tandem pumps. A first pump (12), which is submerged in the cargo in a freight tank (11), is driven by ahydraulic motor (13) via a short shaft (14) which passes through a pressure medium-controlled drainage chamber (16). A second pump (26), which is freely disposed in the explosively dangerous region, is driven by an electric motor (30) via a short shaft (31) which passes through a pressure medium-controlled drainage chamber (35), which motor is provided with a surrounding housing (33) through which fluid flows. The housing (33) is passed through by hydraulic pressure medium which is supplied from the return conduit (23) from the hydraulic motor (13) of the first pump (12).</p> |
