A method and a wireless communication system for improving the access of a terminal are disclosed. The method comprises: a base station transmits the message including information assisting the terminal to access, to the terminal, wherein the message indicates the terminal to access the base station permitting the terminal's access and/or avoids the terminal to access the base station not permitting the terminal's access. In the invention, by transmitting the information which assists the terminal to access from the base station, the terminal can rapidly determine the base station which is suitable for the terminal to access, the traffic causing by the terminal's try to access to the base station blindly is decreased, the access speed of the terminal is improved, the quality of service of the wireless communication system is enhanced.
