PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for emergency start of a vehicle using an AVN system are provided to start a vehicle in case of the lost of a fob key or malfunction of PIC unit. CONSTITUTION: A method for emergency start of a vehicle using an AVN system is as follows. User Identification numbers are inputted by the manipulation of a user(S200). If the input user identification numbers match with the preset user identification numbers(S220), an emergency starting permit signal is output. When the emergency starting permit signal is received, an emergency starting is implemented(S230).
