PURPOSE: An in-plane switching mode liquid crystal display device is provided to prevent light leakage at an inclined viewing angle. CONSTITUTION: The first and second substrates(120,130) are separated facing each other. The first polarizing plate(152) includes a support layer(152a), the first polarizing layer(152b), and the first passivation layer(152c). The second polarizing plate(154) includes the first compensating layer(154a) of a positive biaxial retardation film, the second compensating layer(154b) of a negative biaxial retardation film, the second polarizing layer(154c), and the second passivation layer(154d). A liquid crystal layer(140) is formed between the first and second substrates. |
