PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a combustion device, which is configured to prevent a non-detection object gas adhered to a gas detection means during no use from affecting detection of a detection object gas. SOLUTION: The combustion device 10 includes: a combustion means 3; a combustion start instruction receiving means 2 which receives a combustion start instruction to the combustion means 3; a detecting element which detects the detection object gas including combustible gas and unburned gas generated by imperfect combustion; a gas detection means 4 which is provided in a flow passage extending from the outside of a casing to the inside of the casing where the detecting element is provided, and has a filter part to which the non-detection object gas is adhered; a heating means 5 which can heat the gas detection means 4; and a control means C which can execute gas detection control for determining an existing state of the detection object gas based on a detection result of the detecting element, and heating operation control for causing the heating means 5 to perform heating operation only for a set period when the combustion of the combustion means 3 is started according to the combustion start instruction received by the combustion start instruction receiving means.
