PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily manufacturing a disposable diaper composed of a front body and a rear body which can be unfolded to be used as an underpants-type diaper by engaging the front body and the rear body with each other by mechanical fasteners. SOLUTION: A first mechanical fastener 52 is disposed on one side edge 40a side of a surface 42a of a long-length sheet material 40 to be the inner side of the diaper, and a second mechanical fastener 54 is disposed on the other side edge 40b side of a surface 42b to be the outer side of the diaper. The long-length sheet material 40 is double-folded along the longitudinal direction in such a state that the mechanical fasteners 52 and 54 are not engaged with each other and that the surface 42a to be the inner side of the diaper is the inner side, and the double-folded long-length sheet material 40 is cut at prescribed intervals to obtain unfolded disposable diapers.
