<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of series assemblies of a capacitor for energy transition and an inductor by using a semiconductor element having a low withstand voltage. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In a DC/DC power converter, each of high-voltage-side elements Mos1H to Mos4H, each consisting of a semiconductor switching element, and each of low-voltage-side elements Mos1L to Mos4L, each consisting of a semiconductor switching element, are connected in series for connection between positive and negative terminals of each of smoothing capacitors Cs1 to Cs4 to form four or more circuits A1 to A4 which are connected in series, and a low-voltage-side DC voltage is applied to multiple circuits out of the circuits A1 to A4, and capacitors Cr13 and Cr24 for energy transition are connected between the circuits applied with the low-voltage-side DC voltage and the other circuits, and inductors Lr13 and Lr24 are provided on a path for charging and discharging the capacitors, and thus a multistage power conversion circuit is configured.
