ROTARY COMPRESSOR

A rotary compressor comprises a cylinder (5) having a cylinder chamber (6), a piston (9) swingably moved in the cylinder chamber (6), a vane groove (10) formed in the cylinder (5), and a vane (11) reciprocatingly moved in the vane groove (10).  The front end (11A) of the vane (11) is swingably connected to the piston (9).  With the vane (11) fully projecting from the inner peripheral surface (5A) of the cylinder (5) inward, the rearmost surface of the vane (11) projects from the other end (10B) of the vane groove (10).  Since the distance between the two contact points (201, 202) of the vane on which the frictional resistance with the vane groove (10) acts when the vane (11) is reciprocatingly moved in the vane groove (10) can be increased, the sliding loss can be reduced and the input loss can be reduced.
