Screens 19 on conductors 15 in a wiring harness 16 are connected either to the shell 10 or one of the contacts 14 of the connector subsequently to the connection of the conductors to the contacts by first stripping the ends 20 of the screens 19 from said conductors and then binding the stripped conductors with tapes 21. The bunched screens are next laid on the tape and a metal band 22 applied thereto to which the screens are soldered. The band 22 is in turn connected either to the shell 10 by a metal strip 23 extending from between the band and tape to between the shell and a resilient insulating insert 11, or is connected to one of the contacts 14 by a short length of conductor 24, as shown in Fig. 4. The ends of the shell and harness and the connections between the conductors and contacts are finally embedded in insulating material 17. Specification 828,790 is referred to.
