<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the illuminance of light emitted from ahead in the transverse direction in a light-emitting module that emits light of an LED through a translucent cover. <P>SOLUTION: A light-emitting module 1 comprises an LED 3 mounted on a wiring board 2 and a translucent cover 4 that covers the LED 3 and the translucent cover 4 has a flat plate part 41 in opposition to a light-emitting surface 30 of the LED 3 and a side plate part 42 that falls to the LED 3 side vertically from the peripheral edge of the flat plate part 41 down to the wiring board 2. On the side plate part 42, a projection 43 in the shape of a trapezoid that bulges out and which is capable of condensing light emitted from the LED 3 through the side plate part 42 is formed. Of the light from the LED 3 that passes thorough the translucent cover 4, light having passed through an inclined surface 63 of a part where the bulged part of the projection 43 becomes larger toward the flat plate part 41 along the side plate part 42 is refracted toward ahead or toward the transverse direction in parallel with the flat plate part 41. Because of this, it is possible to increase the luminance of light emitted from ahead in the transverse direction and enlarge the spread of light in the direction of illumination. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
