PROCESSES FOR PRODUCTION OF 1,1-DICHLORO-2,3,3,3-TETRA- FLUOROPROPENE AND 2,3,3,3-TETRAFLUOROPROPENE

Provided is a simple and economical process for production of 1,1-dichloro-2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene, which can dispense with the purification of a raw material component that has been prepared as an isomer mixture.  Also provided is a process for producing 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene from the product thus obtained. A process for production of 1,1-dichloro-2,3,3,3-tetrafluoro- propene, characterized by bringing a mixture of dichloropenta- fluoropropane isomers which contains 1,1-dichloro-2,2,3,3,3 -pentafluoropropane into contact with an aqueous alkali solution in the presence of a phase transfer catalyst, and thereby selectively dehydrofluorinating the 1,1-dichloro-2,2,3,3,3 -pentafluoropropane contained in the mixture; and a process for producing 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene from the 1,1-dichloro -2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene thus obtained.
