A system is provided with a mixing tank 21 or similar for mixing water with light oil, which is the main fuel, in specific mixing proportions, an engine 100 to which the fuel mixture containing water mixed with light oil is delivered from the mixing tank 21, and an ECU 17 for controlling the mixing proportions of the fuel mixture produced in the mixing tank 21 on the basis of the operating state of the engine 100, the ECU 17 controlling the mixing proportions on the basis of a delivery time T taken for the fuel mixture to reach the engine 100 from the mixing tank 21. The fuel mixture which has been mixed in the required proportions can be supplied to the engine 100 with suitable timing for the operating state of the engine 100 by controlling the mixing proportions on the basis of the fuel mixture delivery time T. |
