PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for generating automatically course regulation information at a crossing between a main road and a narrow street.

SOLUTION: This information generation device is provided with: a first memory device 7 for preserving first course regulation information for a crossing; a second memory device 15 for preserving traffic regulation data; a means 9 for designating a determination object crossing in road map data; a means 10 for selecting the determination object crossing to which the first course regulation information is not added at all, on reference to the first memory device 7 relative to the designated determination object crossing; means 11, 12 for adding temporary course regulation information for forbidding right turn and direct advance by crossing completely relative to a specific crossing where a main road and a narrow street cross each other, which is a selected determination object crossing; a verification means 14 for verifying the temporary course regulation information added to the specific crossing based on the traffic regulation data of the second memory device 15; a means 14 for correcting the temporary course regulation information based on a verification result by the verification means 14, and generating second course regulation information; and a third memory device 8 for preserving the second course regulation information correlatively with the specific crossing.
