A shock strut (20) is connected to the guide arm (16b) of a rear wheel bearing (16) at a location behind the central axis (M) of the wheel bearing. The line of application force of the shock strut is also behind the same central axis at a distance between 10 and 90 millimeters, during the entire spring travel of the suspension (10). The strut is also slightly inclined back at an angle of approximately 10 degrees. The guide arm is also coupled to an independent lower linkage (18).
