<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machining system and a machining method, realizing the most efficient machining in spite of variation in size and weight of works. <P>SOLUTION: In this machining system, while a work and a tool are relatively moved, the work is machined with the tool. The system includes: a table means 60 and a three-dimensional moving mechanism 10 for moving a Z-axis slider 11 with respect to the table means. The three-dimensional moving mechanism is provided with a first holder means 30 for selectively and replaceably fitting the work and the tool.
