[PROBLEMS] The object is to provide an inexpensive removal method which can remove ClOF from a gas. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] ClOF contained in a gas as an impurity can be removed from the gas at low cost by reacting the gas with a reducing agent. When the reducing agent is prepared in an aqueous solution, the aqueous solution has a standard electrode potential of-0.092 V or less. The reducing agent can be used in the reaction in the form of an aqueous solution.
