SWITCHING MODE POWER SUPPLY FOR REDUCING STANDBY POWER

PURPOSE: A switching mode power supply for reducing a standby power is provided to minimize power consumption by operating an DC/DC part and PFC in a burst mode. CONSTITUTION: An EMI filter section(11) is connected to an input power source. The EMI filter section eliminates a high frequency noise element. A PFC part(12) is connected to the EMI filter section. A DC / DC part(13) is connected to the PFC part. A synchronous rectifier part(14) is connected to the DC / DC part. A PFC controller(15) has an overvoltage protection section. The DC / DC controller(16) generates a burst mode signal. A synchronous rectifier controller(17) is connected to the synchronous rectifier part. An error signal generating unit(18) senses the output voltage and creates the error signal. The controller(19) synchronizes the DC / DC part with PFC part.
