ARRARATUS AND METHOD FOR SUPPORTING SELECTIVE SUSPEND MODE OF USB NETWORK-DEVICE

PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for supporting the selective suspend mode of a USB network-device are provided to remarkably reduce the battery consumption of a host by supporting the selective standby mode of a USB network device connected to the host. CONSTITUTION: A power management unit(104) delivers a host suspend mode informing message to a state management unit(106) in a host suspend mode. The state management unit transfers a normal state transition message to a USB(Universal Serial Bus) driver(102), and the USB driver transits the power state of a USB network device to a normal state. If a power state setting message is received according to the transition into a host standby mode, the USB driver changes the power state of the USB network device to a power-off state.
