PURPOSE: A large cross-head diesel engine is provided to securely support a cross-head under the influence of big load in an operation mode and make static and dynamic force of sliding shoe reliably eccentric. CONSTITUTION: A large cross-head diesel engine comprises a base plate, a stand(5), and a cylinder(6). The base plate accepts a crank shaft(3) expanded along the engine shaft(31). The stand is arranged in the base plate and has two exterior walls(4). The cylinder part is arranged in the stand for the acceptance of the cylinder. The base plate, the stand, and the cylinder part are connected by a tie rod(7). The tie rod is expanded along the sliding surface(8) for the support of the sliding shoe of the cross head in the stand.
