PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for initially driving a sensor-less bldc motor are provided to extend durability of a motor by preventing the damage to the motor due to overcurrent. CONSTITUTION: A PWM controller(140) controls the on/OFF state of the inverter(130) offering a driving voltage to a motor(160). According to the frequency of the applied current bases on the order speed, which the current, a frequency control part(300) controls the speed of the motor by outputting the low speed control signal to a PWM controller. A sensor-less control part(400) outputs a high speed control signal to a PWM controller based on the difference between a command speed and the estimated seep of the motor.
