PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing flake copper powder which is composed of fine grains, has a sharp grain size distribution, has large crystallites, and has excellent oxidation resistance. SOLUTION: The method for producing flake copper powder comprises: a first step where an aqueous solution comprising a copper salt and a complexing agent is prepared; a second step where alkali hydroxide is added to the aqueous solution so as to prepare first slurry comprising cupric oxide; a third step where a first reducing agent capable of reducing cupric oxide into cuprous oxide is added to the first slurry so as to prepare second slurry comprising cuprous oxide; and a fourth step where a second reducing agent capable of reducing cuprous oxide into copper is added to the second slurry so as to obtain flake copper powder. The method is characterized in that phosphoric acid and the salt thereof are added in at least one step among the first to third steps, and/or phosphoric acid and the salt thereof are added to the second slurry in the fourth step.
