<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To install a hall element in a gap formed in each flange of each cylindrical bobbin with the flange, to shorten whole length of a linear motor and to improve the positioning precision thereof. <P>SOLUTION: In a hall element embedded structure of the cylindrical linear motor, the hall element (20) is installed in the gap (11) formed in the respective flanges (6 and 7) becoming an integrated shape in a pair of cylindrical bobbins (8) with the flanges.
