PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain drive assistance by an image of a simple constitution. SOLUTION: In a usual parking mode, a visual field 50a of a camera unit 50 and irradiation of a back light 52 are focused on a rear side of the vehicle 1. In a parallel parking mode, the visual field 50a of the camera unit 50 and irradiation of the back light 52 are also directed to a side of the vehicle. It is performed on the condition that the vehicle is parallel parked as the operations of a blinker lamp 63 or a hazard lamp 64 and a shift lever 8 to shift the gear into reverse in the transmission are simultaneously performed. Further, map data regarding a present position of the vehicle 1 are referred to by a navigation device 15, and it is automatically switched to the usual parking mode if the present position is in a parking area and to the parallel parking mode if the present position is on a road respectively.
