<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set a time-out time period suitable for a communication environment of a wireless terminal device in an assisted type GPS positioning method. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A larger value as a time-out time period for GPS positioning is correlated to a class of a long estimation distance in a table relating to a class of an estimation distance (R) between a position of a wireless terminal device (10) for performing an assisted type GPS positioning process and a reference position (32) of a wireless base station (20) to which the wireless terminal device is connected, and the table is recorded in the wireless terminal device. When the wireless terminal device starts the GPS positioning process, the wireless terminal device obtains assist data including an estimation distance between the position of the wireless terminal device and the reference position of the wireless base station to which the wireless terminal device is connected, retrieves a time-out time period corresponding to the estimation distance included in the assist data in the table, and performs the GPS positioning by using the time-out time period obtained by the retrieving.
