<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceiling fan capable of obtaining a prescribed wind velocity regardless of the height of the ceiling on which the ceiling fan is installed. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The ceiling fan includes a distance measuring sensor 2 in a control box at an under surface of a motor for detecting the distance to the floor surface. A control means 1 can blow air at the prescribed wind velocity regardless of the distance from a blade even when the height of the ceiling on which the ceiling fan is installed changes, by controlling the rotational speed of the motor by detecting the distance from the distance measuring sensor 2.
