<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery capable of attaining superior cycle characteristics and swelling characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: The secondary battery has a cathode 21, an anode 22, and electrolyte solution, and the electrolyte solution is impregnated into a separator 23 arranged between the cathode 21 and the anode 22. An anode active material layer 22B includes a plurality of crystal anode active material particles with silicon as a constituent, and the plurality of anode active material particles include spherical particles and non-spherical particles. Thus, a periodical change for physical properties of the anode active material particles are hardly generated.
