METHOD FOR ADJUSTING A PREDETERMINED THROUGHPUT WHEN A TURBOCHARGER HAS A VARIABLE TURBINE GEOMETRY

The invention relates to a method for adjusting a predetermined throughput when a turbocharger has a variable turbine geometry. Said method comprises the following steps: a turbocharger is provided that has a turbine, a compressor, and a variable turbine geometry (VTG) consisting of multiple rotary vanes; a predetermined desired parameter is set which correlates with the predetermined throughput of the turbocharger that is to be adjusted; the turbocharger is driven by means of a gaseous medium that is adjusted such that the desired parameter is obtained when the rotary vanes of the variable turbine geometry are in a position in which the turbocharger has the predetermined throughput; the obtained actual parameter is determined and compared with the predetermined desired parameter, and if the obtained actual parameter differs from the predetermined desired parameter, the rotary vanes are moved.
