<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing glass flakes having excellent slidability. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The glass flakes are produced by the method for producing glass flakes having rounded corners, which includes the process of treating glass flakes with a liquid which can cause corrosion of the glass. Also, when the cross section along the thickness direction is viewed, the radius of curvature of an edge part is at least 0.08 μm. Further, a coating layer composed of a metal oxide or a metal having the thickness of at least 1/6 times the thickness of the average thickness of glass flakes can be disposed on glass flakes to form rounded corners.
