The present invention provides an arc-preventing apparatus for a separate cord-type hair dryer, which prevents an arc and damage caused every time a male connector formed at one end of the separate-type cord and a female connector installed in the main body are connected or disconnected under a load condition. An arc-preventing apparatus (100) which can reliably fix or release a male connector (10) and a female connector (20) by an on/off switch (3) is installed on a power contact unit (2) so as to prevent an arc and damage caused every time the male connector (10) for supplying power to the hair dryer and the female connector (20) installed in a main body (1) are connected or disconnected under a load condition. The arc-preventing apparatus (100) comprises: a stopper (102) which is formed at one side of the female connector (20) arranged at the power contact unit (2) of the main body (1), and which is elastically movable between a retracted position and an extended position by a first elastic body (101); a rod (130) which is secured into a rotating shaft (P) arranged at the side opposite to the stopper (102), and which rotates in a predetermined radius along a second elastic body (120) and a guide groove (121) by the downward movement of the switch (3); and a female connector (10) having a first stopper groove (201) and a second stopper groove (202) fitted to a stopper protrusion (131) formed at one end of the rod (130) and a stopper (102). |
