<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a belt protection member capable of being prevented from interfering with an intermediate transfer belt, and capable of improving workability. <P>SOLUTION: The intermediate transfer unit includes: the endless intermediate transfer belt 25; a belt support 250B that supports the intermediate transfer belt 25 to be exchangeable; a frame-like housing 250H in which the belt support 250B is stored; and the plate-like belt protection member 255 provided on the belt support 250B and biased by an elastic member S. The belt support 250B is formed to be swingable with respect to the frame-like housing 250H. In the state where the belt support 250B is stored in the housing 250H, the leading end part 255p of the belt protection member 255 is positioned to cover above the edge of the intermediate transfer belt 25 in the width direction; and in the state where the belt support 250B is swung with respect to the housing 250H, the leading end part 255p is retracted to the outside of the belt support 250B. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
