<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable more accurate acquisition of a certificate image presented by a user. <P>SOLUTION: An automatic toll reception device includes a camera mechanism for imaging the certificate presented from a vehicle on a running lane, and a camera control unit for controlling the angle of the camera mechanism in a tilt direction, based on the detected value of the vehicle height. By the control of the camera angle according to the vehicle height, it is possible to obtain the certificate image even using a telephoto lens having a narrow field of view. Preferably, the automatic toll reception device further includes a display disposed on the vehicle side for displaying the image imaged by the camera mechanism.
