PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable surfaces of stranded particles to be fully polished. SOLUTION: The stranded object polishing apparatus 1 polishes a strand 3 of pearls in which several pearls 3a are coupled by a thread penetrating through the pearls 3a, by using brushing members 5A and 5B, and polishing grains so that the apparatus fully polishes the surfaces of the stranded pearls 3a. The brushing members 5A and 5B are provided as one pair, which sandwich the strand 3 of the pearls and come into contact with the strand 3 from the side. Brush drivers 7A and 7B are provided which support the brushing members 5A and 5B and move them to cross the strand direction of the strand 3. The brushing members 5A and 5B come into elastic contact with the surfaces of the pearls 3a so as to polish even the strand among the stranded pearls 3a, which restores an intrinsic brightness of pearls for a necklace or the like.
