PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seal assembly for cannulas, which allows introduction of a wide range of surgical instruments or the like and maintains unity of air within an internal area of a cavity in the light of hoping for maintaining the unity of the air within the internal area of the cavity. SOLUTION: The surgical portal apparatus includes a portal member 10, a seal housing 20 and a seal mount 30. The portal member 10 is dimensioned to access tissue and having a longitudinal passageway therethrough to permit access to underlying tissue, and defining leading and trailing ends.
