PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor device and a method of manufacturing the device. SOLUTION: A transistor junction region and a metal line are connected using a metal plug instead of a bit line in a core/peripheral circuit region such that a bit line formed in the core/peripheral circuit region has a uniform pattern like a cell area.
