The invention relates to a seat cushion bottom element for a seat, comprising a suspension layer (7) formed of a first thermoplastic elastomer oriented at least in one direction and means (8) for attaching the suspension layer (7) to a frame (6) of the seat. The attachment means (8) comprise an overmoulded piece (10) on at least part of the perimeter of the suspension layer (7), said piece being provided with at least one member (11) for coupling to the frame (6) of the seat. The attachment means (8) are formed of a second thermoplastic elastomer from the same family as the first thermoplastic elastomer and selected so as to create, on the overmoulding, chemical bonds with said first thermoplastic elastomer of the suspension layer (7).
