<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a humidifier capable of generating large amount of steam and generating steam with small particles. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The humidifier includes: a heating part 20 for increasing the temperature of water W; a hot water supply means 2 for making the water W of which temperature is increased drop down to the upper side of a first cartridge 31 comprising a bag 32 including charcoal; a second evaporation part 5 arranged on the lower side of the first cartridge 31 and fitted with a second cartridge 52 comprising a filter F with water absorption properties and air permeability; a water guiding means 4 receiving the water W made to drop down to the charcoal and flow down from the lower edge of the first cartridge 31 and guiding the water W to the second cartridge 52; and an air blowing means 6 for blowing air so that air E is made to pass through the first cartridge 31 and the second cartridge 52 and so that the air E is made to pass from the lower side to the upper side within the first cartridge 31.
