<p>A magneto-impedance element comprises a magneto-sensitive body (1) formed in a line shape, the electromagnetic characteristics of which are changed by a magnetic field acting from the outside and through which a pulse current is conducted from one end (1a) side to the other end side in the axial line direction. A conductive layer (3) is provided on an insulating layer (2) formed on the outer surface of the magneto-sensitive body (1). A connection portion (4) for electrically connecting the magneto-sensitive body (1) with the conductive layer (3) is provided at the other end in the axial line direction of the magneto-sensitive body (1). A detection coil is wound around the outer circumference of the conductive layer (3) and, when the pulse current flows through the magneto-sensitive body (1), outputs induced voltage proportional to the intensity of an external magnetic field acting on the magneto-sensitive body (1). The directions of the pulse currents flowing through the respective magneto-sensitive body (1) and conductive layer (3) are arranged so as to be opposed to each other.</p> |
