PURPOSE: A social network formation method and an apparatus thereof for directly forming social network between user terminals through P2P communication are provided to selectively transmit an acquaintance formation request to a terminal of a user. CONSTITUTION: A selectively registered user catalog is received based on an external command from a server(310). The user information selected from the user catalog is selected through peer-to-peer communication(320). The acquaintance formation request is selectively transmitted through the peer-to-peer communications to the terminal of the selected user(330). The peer-to-peer communications operates by using the address of the user selected from the user catalog.
