The body (10) has a cooling passage (26) formed in a piston through which a cooling agent discharges. An opening formation position (12) is formed on a wall including openings (22a, 24a). The cooling agent is delivered to the cooling passage from outside and evacuated from the cooling passage towards outside. The opening formation position is surrounded by an axial wall part (16) in a direction parallel to a central axis of the body at the level of the opening formation position. The piston is formed from an aluminum alloy, and the body is formed from an iron alloy. An independent claim is also included for a method for forming a cooling channel of a piston.
