<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable radiation image reading system capable of confirming information on photographing of a radiation image and efficiently obtaining a desired radiation image. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Image data generated according to the intensity of irradiated radiation is supplied from an imaging panel 21 to a control circuit 28 and written into a memory 29. An image display signal DS is generated based on the image data from the imaging panel 21 or on the image data read from the memory 29, and supplied to a display section 32. Data indicating identification information, photographing conditions, or the like is input from an input device 74 and stored in the memory 29, and this data is read to generate an information display signal DJ which is supplied to the display section 32. Since the radiation image and identification information or photographing conditions or the like are displayed on the display section 32, photographing can be correctly performed, and whether the desired radiation image is obtained can be easily confirmed utilizing this display.
