PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display medium and a display device, capable of restraining colors from being mixed between respective pigments, and capable of color-developing efficiently and selectively a specified electrochromic (EC) pigment contained in the display medium. SOLUTION: The EC1 pigment 36 is held in a porous layer 34 contact-arranged in an electrode 32 side, out of an electrode 28 and an electrode 32, in this display medium 12, and the EC2 pigment 38 is dispersed in an electrolyte layer 24. The EC1 pigment 36 and the EC2 pigment 38 make the both comprise an oxidative type pigment or a reductive type pigment having coloring states different from each other, and satisfying the relation of Expression (1) E1<E2, wherein E1 represents an absolute value of a threshold value in a voltage applied between the pair of electrodes for changing the first electrochromic pigment from an achromatized state to a colored state, and E2 represents an absolute value of a threshold value of a voltage applied between the pair of electrodes for changing the second electrochromic pigment from an achromatized state to a colored state.
