<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backlight assembly in which light from light sources is emitted uniformly as a whole even if the number of light sources is decreased, and uniformity of luminance as a whole of a display can be secured, and to provide the display including the same. <P>SOLUTION: The backlight assembly is provided with a plurality of light sources to emit light, an incident face into which light enters, an outgoing face which is an opposed face to the incident face and from which light outgoes, and a diffusion plate which is located on the outgoing face and includes a first lens pattern group and a second lens pattern group with mutually different shape.
