<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric compressor wherein excessive temperature rise in an electric motor is prevented. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The electric compressor includes a stator formed by parallel and axially winding a coil wire in multiple layers on the surfaces of the multiple tooth portions of a single stator provided with the tooth portions arranged at equal intervals in the circumferential direction. Bumps and dips are formed on the surface of the coil in at least either of the innermost radius and the outermost radius of the coil wire wound on each tooth portion.
