<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-density optical recording medium and an optical recording and reproducing device capable of recording and reproducing with a short wavelength blue laser while maintaining compatibility with a DVD. <P>SOLUTION: The optical recording medium is constructed in such a way that thickness of a clamp portion is set to be 1.2 mm, thickness of a light transmission layer of a peripheral section including an information record forming part is set to be 0.6 mm±5.98λ/(N.A.)<SP>4</SP>, and at least one of recording and reproducing is achieved from the light transmission layer side through a lens system set to have N.A.≤0.72. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
