PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source driving method capable of maintaining a target white color coordinate even when the luminance of a drive light source decreases and a display device using the same. SOLUTION: The light source driving method includes a step in which light volume of a plurality of color light generated from a plurality of color light sources is sensed, a step in which by comparing the sensed data corresponding to the light volume of the color light and reference data stored already, existence of a light source which is driven by a set duty established beforehand is determined out of the color light sources, a step in which, when there exists the light source which is driven by the set duty established beforehand, the reference data is changed based on the light volume of the light source driven by the set duty, and a step in which, based on the reference data changed, the drive signal supplied to the color light source is controlled and the light volume of the color light is corrected.
