<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carriage unit capable of allowing a liquid ejection head 4 to be attached to or detached from a carriage 62a and improving positioning precision of the liquid ejection head 4 to the carriage 62a. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This carriage unit includes the liquid ejection head 4 having arranged therein a plurality of ejection nozzles for ejecting liquid to a recording face of a recording medium and the carriage 62a that relatively moves in parallel to the recording face under a condition that the liquid ejection head 4 is fixed. The carriage unit further includes a lever 80 for detachably fixing the liquid ejection head 4 by rotation to and engagement with the carriage 62a. In association with the rotational action and the engagement action of the lever 80, the liquid ejection head 4 can be positioned to the carriage 62a in different directions.
