PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignition timing control device for an internal combustion engine, avoiding such a fact that occurrence of knocking is not effectively suppressed due to the lower limit guard of a learning value and engine output is reduced, in an area having a large variation in an effect on occurrence of knocking caused by the secular change of the internal combustion engine within a basic leaning area. SOLUTION: A plurality of multipoint learning areas is set in the area having the large variation in the effect on the occurrence of knocking caused by the secular change of the engine 1 within the basic learning area, and each multipoint learning value used for correcting ignition timing for suppressing occurrence of knocking is prepared with respect to each multipoint learning area. The multipoint learning value is updated based on a feedback term increased or decreased according to the presence or absence of occurrence of knocking. The lower guard value of the multipoint learning value is set to a value different with respect to each multipoint learning area according to the degree of the effect on the occurrence of knocking caused by the secular change of the engine 1 with respect to each multipoint learning area, and is set to the optimum value according to the degree of the effect.
