PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wall-mounted vibration damping device suitable for wall surface installation of a heavy apparatus having a vibration source built therein. SOLUTION: The wall-mounted vibration damping device 1 includes a body frame 2, an upper side support body 6 and a lower side support body 7 fixed to the body frame 2, an upper side wall installing fitting 3 and a lower side wall installing fitting 4 mounted on the wall surface, and a vibration damping member 5 interposed at both ends between the upper side support body 6 and the upper side wall installing fitting 3, and between the lower side support body 7 and the lower side wall installing fitting 4 as main components. Vertical frames 2a are formed with a cross sectional channel, and formed in such a trapezoidal shape that the vertical frames are parallel to the apparatus back side (or wall surface) for the side facing the apparatus 10, and the width is gradually narrowed from the upper end to the lower end (d1>d2) for the side facing the wall surface.
