IMAGE DISPLAY AND METHOD FOR DISPLAYING STILL IMAGE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display which achieves reduction of power consumption when displaying a still image without increasing a circuit scale of a memory.

SOLUTION: The image display 100 includes: a data controller 410 which controls to store still image data in a frame memory 314 (or 315) to be used in quality improvement processing in a moving image display performance enhancement part 300, and also to read out the still image data from the frame memory 314 (or 315) when displaying the still image on an image display part 480; and a power supply interruption part 450 interrupting power supply to an image processing part 200 which differs in a power supply path from the moving image display performance enhancement part 300.
