<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalytic system for promoting the hydrolysis of metal borohydride into hydrogen. <P>SOLUTION: The catalytic system comprises at least two components of a first component such as a catalyst for a hydrolysis reaction of the metal borohydride into hydrogen and a second component such as a solid material whose dissolution reaction in water is exothermic. For example, the catalytic system is composed of: a metal foam 2.1 having a hollow cylindrical shape and metal nanoparticles grafted on the wall of a metal foam 2.1; and the material 2.4 having a cylindrical shape whose dissolution reaction in water is exothermic, is arranged in a hollow part 2.3 of center of the hollow cylinder. The metal nanoparticle is selected from Pt, Ru, Pd, Co, Cr, Ni and Fe, and the exothermic material is selected from NaOH, KOH, LiOH, CaCO<SB>3</SB>, CaCl<SB>2</SB>, LiCl, CsOH, MgCl<SB>2</SB>and MnCl<SB>2</SB>. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
